Please find the draft programme of the latest in a series of events memorialising the life and work of Professor Eric Mottram (1924-1995), which on this occasion also comprises a celebration of the work of Jerome Rothenberg. The event is organised by Valerie Soar and takes place on 12 March 2022. 10.00          Session 1. Jerome Rothenberg and Charlie Morrow reading poems by Eric Mottram, with music.


11.00          Session 2. Allen Fisher reading works by Eric Mottram and other poets Eric Mottram valued and celebrated.

12.00          Session 3. Jeff Hilson presents an event with Steve McGarty: Eric Mottram’s seminars on Radical Poetics


13.00          LUNCH


14.15          Session 4. Round table, chaired by Robert Hampson, with Peter Middleton, Gavin Selerie, Matt Martin, Ken Edwards, Hélène Aji, Michael Hrebeniak, Amy Evans Bauer(tbc) and Jerome Rothenberg


15.45          Session 5. Pierre Joris on Eric Mottram and Jerome Rothenberg: their first meetings with Eric Mottram in London in the ’70s, first meetings with Jerome Rothenberg in NYC in the late 60s, his collaborations with both of them.  (tbc)
